Children’s Church

Hello Berea Baptist Church Families!

We are so excited to get back inside with our nursery and children’s ministry!  We have missed your little ones so much since March.  We just can’t tell you enough how much we have missed the giggling and the grins from your little ones! You are all such a blessing to Berea Baptist Church and we look forward to seeing all of your smiling faces.

Our first Sunday back to children’s church and the nursery will be Sunday, October 4th, 2020 at 11am.

We have the safety of your child(ren) as our top prority so we have made some changes and put some procedures in place to ensure their health and safety! The church has purchased a fogger for daily cleaning of the nursery and the children’s classrooms. The nursery has all new linens and blankets that will be washed and changed between each use. We have Clorox Wipes as well as Lysol spray available to clean high traffic surfaces and toys. All volunteers that are working with your child(ren) will be required to wear a mask while in the nursery and/or the children’s classrooms. We ask all children age 5 and up to wear a face mask.  Our volunteers and staff will have temperature checks before coming in contact with your child(ren) and will be encouraged to use sanitizer often while working with your child(ren) each Sunday. We will take the temperatures of each child before they enter the nursery and the classrooms, as well. We hope these changes and procedures will ease any concerns you might have during this time.

We will have some new procedures for checking in your child(ren) to the nursery and children’s church. We ask that all families check their child(ren) in on our KidCheck system located in the hallway by the nursery. You can download the app on your phone or check out for more details.  We ask that there are NO VISITORS to the nursery or children’s classrooms. When picking up your child(ren) from activities please DO NOT send a sibling or other family member to pick them up. If at all possible, the same parent/guardian that drops them off should pick them up. Please have your child(ren) keep their toys, books, cups, blankets, etc. at home or in the car. Parents with infants and toddlers, we know that your littles come with a lot more required “stuff”.  We will be sure to keep those items away from other children and separated from the other diaper bags, diapers, car carriers, bottles, etc.  Please consider taking your child(ren)’s temperature before coming to and participating in the children’s activities here at Berea Baptist Church.

We know that you are aware of the symptoms of COVID-19, but we recommend that if you, your child(ren), or a family member you and your child(ren) have been in close contact with have any of the following symptoms to please stay home.

● Fever of 100° F. or higher, chills, or a sense of having a fever
● Cough
● Nasal congestion or runny nose
● Sore throat
● Shortness of breath
● Diarrhea (Within the last 24 hours)
● Nausea or Vomiting (Within the last 24 hours)
● Fatigue
● Headache
● Muscle or body aches
● New loss of sense of taste or smell
●Unexplained rash

We know that kids get sick.  It happens!  We are, after all, coming into allergy, cold and flu season.  We are parents too!  Not all sniffles and runny noses indicate that your child has something that is contagious. That being said, if your child has been ill for any other reason and on antibiotics please be sure they have been on those antibiotics and fever free for at least 24 hours before attending Children’s activities at Berea.

Thank you for all you have done and the patience as you have showed as we navigate this “new normal”.  We have really tried to consider all avenues as we look forward to getting your child(ren) back to church.  We look forward to seeing you and your child(ren) for the 11am service!  We will let you know when we decide to add children’s church and nursery back to the 8:30am service.

If you have any concerns about anything involving your child(ren) please reach out to us.

Thanking our Soldiers!
How exciting to receive a note from a troop serving overseas in Afghanistan!! Our Berea Kids on Wednesday nights collected food/toiletries and made drawings and notes to thank the soldiers for their services. We were able to send them 4 boxes packed full. Please keep all of these soldiers in your prayers.

From Sergeant Travis: Thank you so much for all of the packages! All of the guys and I are really happy to get this stuff. The marshmallows are a nice touch and will give us something to do. I hope I don’t get too crazy and eat all the noodles in one sitting haha. Plus all the stuff came in just in time because inbound things will be slowing down/shutting down from this virus going around..Also thank the kids for the drawings and picture because it definitely brightens the mood around here. I hope all is well and I love you guys. The packages mean more than you think to me and were a nice surprise for all the guys over here.
