BEREA in the Community

“Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.” Romans 12:1
Reading Box
Children’s Book Exchange
Check out this amazing reading box in the back of the church parking lot for all things children’s books. Such an amazing blessing and gift for our community!

Firewood Ministry
Routinely on some Saturday mornings from 8-11 am the Firewood Ministry cuts firewood at the Tinsley Pond. We have been blessed to help so many folks this year with free wood. We need help splitting the wood that is still at the pond.

Blessing Box
This serves the
community 24/7
Here at Berea Baptist Church, we have a Blessing Box located in the back end of our church parking lot. This is a 24/7 food pantry. We have all kinds of non-perishable items in there along with baby food and toiletries. It has been amazing to see how God has used this.
If you know someone in need of food, etc. please let them know about our Blessing Box.
This is for everyone! God Bless!
[Western Hanover Emergency Action Team]
We serve pantry every second
and fourth Tuesday of each month. We provide groceries at the back door of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church on Coatesville Rd.  All clients receive non-perishable groceries, milk, eggs, cheese, butter, hamburger, hot dogs, other meats, fruits, fresh vegetables and desserts. We continue to operate as a drive through pantry; we limit clients to one visit per calendar month.
All food donated can be left in the Gifting Room at Berea Baptist and it will be taken to WHEAT. If you would like to volunteer in any way, please contact Shelley Horton at
WHEAT [continued]
Financial assistance is obtained by calling our WHEAT hotline at 1-877-559-4328 (1-877-55 WHEAT) and leaving their details for us to call them back. We work with clients to discuss their unique situation and determine if they qualify and how much for the best area to place the assistance.
What is WHEAT?
WHEAT is a church based, non-profit 501(c3) organization that provides food and financial support to citizens of Western Hanover County. Our service area covers Beaverdam, Doswell, Montpelier and Rockville, as well as other US Postal areas inside the boundary of Hanover County.

Resurrection Ministries – Grocery Outreach
Service Coordinator

Resurrection Ministries is excited to serve the community and meet the needs of our neighbors, and we need your help! Our goal is to love our neighbors well by providing essential needs for those that are elderly, unable to leave their homes, or have suffered financial hardship.
We are partnering with Vertical Church and other local churches to provide one week’s worth of groceries to 250 families in the Greater Richmond Area. We are so excited for another opportunity to share the gospel in our community!
We are truly better together, and we hope to see many receive what they need physically and spiritually through this outreach!
