FCAC is incredibly passionate about providing our families with a quality education as an alternative to private school or the full-time commitment of homeschool. We offer a full time schedule for full time working parents or a part time schedule for homeschoolers.  We strive to meet our students where they are by providing instruction on their level to specifically fit their needs in a Christ-centered learning environment.

MEET THE FCAC STAFF
John Baldwin
Senior Pastor

John is a native of Central Virginia, having grown up in Farmville.  He attended Hampden-Sydney College where he graduated with a BA in History and Religion in 2001.  He currently holds a Master’s of Divinity, a Master’s of Arts in Religion, and a Master’s of Religious Education from Liberty University, and is working on his Master’s of Theology with an emphasis on Church History and a Doctorate of Ministry with an emphasis on Church Planting and Evangelism.

He loves baseball, basketball, football, soccer, lacrosse, and really anything sports related that keeps him active. He has a passion for sharing the Gospel throughout the community and expecting God to continue doing an amazing work.  His favorite verse is Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Mark Jenkins
Associate Pastor

Mark is our newest staff member at Berea but is well seasoned in serving the Lord and bearing witness of the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ.  He is joining us from Grove Avenue Baptist Church and we are so blessed to have him.
Nan Henderson
FCAC Director

Nan graduated from VCU with a Masters Degree in Elementary Education K-4 and a post graduate Masters in Administration.  She worked in Henrico County for 13 years and taught at Glen Allen Baptist Preschool for 2 years.  She has also facilitated an after school program since 2015.
However, when Henrico County went virtual in 2020, Nan started a virtual school in her home. This led her to the decision to homeschool her youngest daughter, for the 2021-2022 school year, which has been a wonderful experience; however, she felt that she wanted more for her daughter.  That is when God introduced Alexis Lewis into her life.  When Alexis shared her vision for FCAC, Nan was so excited about the opportunity for her daughter.  After a lot of prayer, God made his plan for her to be a part of the school, as a teacher, abundantly clear.

Norah Pence
Teacher

Norah graduated from Mary Baldwin College with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater and PK-6 Elementary Education certification. She worked in Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania schools at the beginning of her teaching career.  After a teaching hiatus to raise children, her family moved to Montpelier in 2017 and she began working for Hanover schools.  She gained valuable experience working in different situations as SOL tutor, homebound instructor and  long-term substitute.  Norah thought she would try to pursue work outside of education but God has shown her that she is not quite done with it. Through prayer, encouragement from her family, Alexis and Nan, Norah is following God’s call to be part of FCAC and she is very excited for what’s to come.
